- ABOUT | GFC Bandera
ABOUT GFC READ MORE READ MORE WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS GATEWAY FELLOWSHIP? We are a church planting church started by a church planting church. What started in the San Antonio area has spread to the nations and into the Hill Country here in Bandera. As part of the Gateway Fellowship Network, an international fellowship of like minded churches, we have a family bigger than our Sunday gatherings in one location, united in our mission is to "help friends become devoted followers of Jesus." We start with people right where they are and help them discover the love and call of God on their life to make disciples who make disciples. We want to point people to Jesus, help them take their next step in their relationship with Him and ultimately help them find their place in God's plan for the world. BELIEFS + MISSION Helping Friends Become Devoted Followers of Jesus! + VISION + STRATEGY + VALUES + BELIEFS OUR STORY Gateway Fellowship started as a small group of 8 people in John Van Pay’s living room on Labor Day weekend, 2007. With a God-sized burden, they wrote down the names of neighbors on a piece of butcher paper. A mission was born to help their friends become devoted followers of Jesus. This small group has grown to hundreds of small groups around the world. John received a vision to start Gateway Fellowship Network, a church planting network. The purpose is to train and send teams to start new churches all over the world. One of those churches, Bandera, was started in 2019 in the same way. In the winter of 2018, Gateway Fellowship received a phone call from a church in Bandera, TX and they said they needed help. A small group of friends went into the community and around the church and prayer walked and asked the Lord to give them a burden for Bandera. And He did. What began with 3 small groups of people gathering in houses has grown into multiple small groups of people who all meet together once a week throughout the community around dinner tables and once on Sunday morning. Our hope is that as we follow Jesus and trust His Lordship together we can heal and become more like Him together. As we become more devoted followers of Jesus together, our vision is to reach other parts of Bandera County and the unreached throughout the world. Will you join the mission King Jesus has given us? - KINGDOM BUILDERS | GFC Bandera
DOWNLOAD PROJECT BOOK Set up your KB Giving GIVE NOW Kingdom Builders is our way of leading this Great Commission and faithfully spreading the Good News of Jesus to all the ends of the earth. Kingdom Builders are a group of generous givers who give above and beyond the tithe to a mission's mutual fund of projects that build God's Kingdom. The Bible tells us that we are blessed to be a blessing. Everything we do today is about building His church around the world. Jesus gave all He had to reach the lost. Kingdom Builders is our way of following His example. "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation." Mark 16:15 “This generation of Christians is responsible for this generation of souls on the earth!” -Keith Green Global Missions Everyone, in every nation, deserves a chance to hear the Gospel. Kingdom Builders gives us the opportunity to support key mission projects, such as sending workers, resources, church planting assistance, and pastoral development to the nations. Most importantly, Kingdom Builders ensures that all people have access to the Truth and salvation . Local Outreach and Church Planting Kingdom Builders is committed to local growth through planting churches in key areas that will reach communities without a strong gospel message and discipleship culture through joining hands with local partners that are working with the poor, widows and orphans, those ministering to the hurting in our own backyards. We do this to help more people come to personally know a loving relationship with our Heavenly Father. Future Disciple Makers Kingdom Builders comes alongside future disciple-makers to guide them through finding their calling in ministry. Gateway School of Ministry is designed to assist those in their calling by training and equipping future leaders to be a part of church plants either locally or abroad missionaries. The growth and health of the Church around the world, to a large extent, depends upon its leaders. Perhaps the single most strategic investment that we make for the Kingdom of God is to invest in future disciple-makers. The Joy of Giving “A kingdom builder is an individual or family who prayerfully commits to give over and above the Lord’s tithe (10% of your income that supports the day-to-day operation of the church | Malachi 3:10) to grow the kingdom of God” Set up your KB Giving GIVE NOW
- Intentional Parenting
Intentional Parenting: Autopilot Is for Planes This is about you, not just your child. The book helps you discover first who you are and then takes that healthy person into a discovery of being more intentional, playful, consistent, merciful, and connected to your children. < Back Intentional Parenting This is about you, not just your child. Regardless of age, parenting requires a certain amount of uncertainty. But you can be certain that your children look to you to help them discover who they are. And you can only offer that to the degree that YOU know who you are. Over the years, Sissy Goff, David Thomas, and Melissa Trevathan have helped countless families through their ministry known as Daystar Counseling in Nashville, TN. Due to the unique setup of Daystar, each is frequently counseling not only the child but the parent as well. Having both perspectives provides an opportunity to speak into some of the most common struggles that parents face in today's fast-paced society. Intentional Parenting is built around 12 chapters that each dispel some of the most common parenting myths and reminds all parents of truths that can empower them to be not only the parents that their children need but that God has called them to be. The book helps you discover first who you are and then takes that healthy person into a discovery of being more intentional, playful, consistent, merciful, and connected to your children. Understanding your child. Understanding you.

Don't Miss It: Parent Every Week Like It Counts You know what your kid is going through is just a phase, but what does that really mean? < Back Don't Miss It You know what your kid is going through is just a phase, but what does that really mean? Don't Miss It (by Reggie Joiner and Kristen Ivy) reminds parents that phases are not just periods of time to be survived, but opportunities to be maximized. It gives parents a simple strategy for parenting every week like it counts. It can help them reprioritize their time with their kids; it may even change how they see their kids and themselves. (And because parents are busy, it's designed to take an hour or less to read.) It's just a phase. So don't miss it. To read more about the Phase Project, visit JustAPhase.com .
